Elaine will be sure to keep the group in tip-top shape. As a Pilates instructor in Ft. Myers and avid runner and cyclist, Elaine will be the go-to-girl once our pants get tight from one too many pieces of naan. She also loves to celebrate holidays—Halloween in particular—and enjoys food and dancing.
Tim is an adventurer-at-heart and will no doubt make sure that we don’t miss out on anything in India. Tim is the CFO for St. Matthew’s House, a homeless shelter, in Naples, Fla. The only native Floridian in the group, Tim played soccer at Stetson University where he met the love of his life and eventually earned his M.B.A.. He practices yoga daily and is the team’s Power point guru.
Robin will keep us organized and on-time. She is the Communications Director for the YMCA in Naples and lives with her boyfriend and two dogs. She loves the outdoors, running and anything made with chocolate. We’ll be sure to pack plenty of it for the trip. And in case you are wondering, Robin has “greatest complexion in the team,” according to our P.R. liaison Dan.
Lynn will hopefully keep the group from saying something stupid to the press. She is the Public Relations Manager for The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Fla. She is married to Ben and enjoys running and riding her tandem bicycle. She probably won’t get to run in India, unless it is from a snake, but there will be plenty of walking from what past GSE team members say.
Jay is the class-clown. Jay traded in his chef’s hat for his realtor license and now sells real estate in Estero, Fla. He loves traveling and spending time with his dog. He loves traveling so much that he has the aggressive goal of visiting all 7 continents in the next 5 years. As part of this team, he will mark Asia off his list. Between Jay and Tim, the team won’t be at a loss for laughter.
Selva is our fearless leader. He has to be fearless to lead this high-energy and fun-loving team. Born in Sri Lanka and an immigrant to the U.S. in the 1980’s, Selva works part-time for U.S. Immigration and is an active Rotarian in Port Charlotte. By the end of the trip, or perhaps even the 16 hour plane ride, he’ll be ready to have a break. “Oh Selva” what will you do with us rowdy bunch!
